Busy Bees (Part Two)

6"x6" Oil on Panel
with Palette Knife
SOLD

30 Paintings in 30 Days: September, 2014—Day 6

Throughout the month, I will be painting subjects related to bringing awareness for Heifer Internaitonal

A Heifer honeybee donation includes a bee package, hive, box and training in beekeeping techniques. When you buy bees for a family in need, your gift:
  • • Boosts income through sales of honey, wax and pollen
  • • Stimulates growth of the family’s crops through pollination
Sometimes it's the smallest gifts that make the largest impact. Healthy beehives can can double fruit and vegetable yields of small farms.

I hope you take a moment to visit the Heifer Internaitonal website and learn more about ending world hunger "The Heifer Way."

By the way, I have designed these "Busy Bees" to be displayed as a set. They can go wither horizontal or vertical. Take a look:

Pumpkin Truck

6"x6" Oil on Gessoed Panel
with Palette Knife
SOLD

Every October, we go to Gentry’s Farm to pick pumpkins for Halloween. The farm has many antiques and items of visual interest. My favorite is this pumpkin truck. You can see a painting of last year’s pumpkin pick here.

Yellow Field

6"x6" Oil on Gessoed Panel
with Palette Knife

Today’s painting comes from a photograph I took this past spring of a field full of yellow blooms. Scenes like these are a joy for the artist’s eye. It makes me thankful to live in a world so diverse with color.

Cool Trees

6"x6" Oil on Gessoed Panel
with Palette Knife
SOLD

Here is an impressionistic piece based on a favorite photograph I took while hiking in the fall. The shaded trees were a cool blue hue against a fiery backdrop of fall leaves. It was one of those scenes that I just knew would become a painting someday.
