Breathe on me, Breath of God,
Fill me with life anew,
That I may love what Thou dost love,
And do what Thou wouldst do.
Breathe on me, Breath of God,
Until my heart is pure,
Until with Thee I will one will,
To do and to endure.
Breathe on me, Breath of God,
Till I am wholly Thine,
Till all this earthly part of me
Glows with Thy fire divine.
Breathe on me, Breath of God,
So shall I never die,
But live with Thee the perfect life
Of Thine eternity.
Fill me with life anew,
That I may love what Thou dost love,
And do what Thou wouldst do.
Breathe on me, Breath of God,
Until my heart is pure,
Until with Thee I will one will,
To do and to endure.
Breathe on me, Breath of God,
Till I am wholly Thine,
Till all this earthly part of me
Glows with Thy fire divine.
Breathe on me, Breath of God,
So shall I never die,
But live with Thee the perfect life
Of Thine eternity.
This is a beautiful painting, I love that hymn, makes me sad that hymns aren't sung in "modern" churches anymore. Thank you for reminding me of it.
ReplyDeletebeautiful painting
ReplyDeleteMike, this painting completely captures the essence of the hymn. It is beautiful. Fabulous! Anointed! Yum! The 30 in 30 has exposed me to so many wonderful artists - I'm so grateful.
ReplyDeletePlease stay inspired and keep sharing; your artwork is such a blessing.
Sharon
Thank you, Sharon. I actually tried to paint that hymn earlier in the 30 days. But I scraped it all off three times and painted something else. After that, I painted a lot of atmospheric outdoor scenes. I believe that prepared me to paint this piece on the last day. I guess I had a lot more to learn before I could paint that hymn. I'm very please with the finished piece. And I'm glad you like it. thanks for sharing. Look up Hymns on my blog and you can find some of my other abstracts. I plan DO to paint more in the near future.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Mike
